Pacific Rim Magazine

LAYOUT DESIGN // PRINT PRODUCTION

Pacific Rim is a print magazine that is written, designed and published by Publishing students at Langara College. My roles in the 2017 issue were Assistant Art Director and Production Artist.

As Assistant Art Director, I worked with the Art Department to develop a design template for the 64-page magazine and played a large role in the layout and design of articles and features. I scheduled, attended and directed five photo shoots on location with Langara’s Professional Photography students, and communicated with the Editorial Department to ensure the photography and art portrayed the stories correctly.

As a Production Artist, I was part of a team that prepared and flight-checked all pages of the magazine to ensure they met industry pre-press requirements.

The magazine won Third Place for Feature Magazine of the Year (Two-Year) at the College Media Association 2017 Pinnacle Awards. View the full magazine online at issuu.com.
